- 32nd Toy Run 2010 -
Sunday, December 12th
Planning is well on the way!
We have started working on the best Toy Run EVER!
And it is all because of you, the motorcycling community of SA.
It is clear that we have many, many riders who want to support
the MRASA Toy Run. So as well as riders we are looking for Supporters and people who might like a site at the oval on the day.
We are now selling sites at the oval!
We hope we can make the day special for all!
THE RIDE ON THE DAY
The 2010 Toy Run will leave Anzac Highway, Glenelg at 11 am on Sunday, December 12. Please follow behind Santa and his Marshall's as they travel along Anzac Highway, turning right into Cross Road, then onto the freeway turning off at the Mt Barker turnoff (note - NOT Hahndorf turn off) and taking Mt Barker Road into Hahndorf, then up Pine Avenue to Hahndorf Oval, arriving at approx. 12 noon. Due to Hahndorf residents being blocked into their houses by riders parking across their driveways Council Parking Officers will be working and booking bikes parked illegally. This will not be a problem for bikes parking in the oval grounds!
Both Mt Barker Road and Pine Avenue will be one-way until at least 1.00 pm. (This will be subject to SAPOL control)
"Please also remember that many children have been waiting on the side of the road to see Santa for some time. In the interest of their safety, we will not tolerate riders pulling in between the SAPOL escourt and the marshalls that ride behind Santa." Please respect this request!
LOLLY THROWING POLICY
The MRASA would appreciate if riders did not throw lollies at children on the footpaths. Our concern is that children will run onto the road to retrieve lollies on the road and be hit by riders following. Riders may want to pull over and hand out lollies or pull over and drop them on the foot path. Please don't let them fall short!
This year we will be allowed to park bikes in the side streets of Glenelg to accomodate more riders. When the ride starts riders will be invited to leave on a first come, first leave policy. It may appear as though other riders are leaving before you but this will be because they arrive at the Bay before you.

NO BIKES OR TRIKES WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE OVAL DURING THE EVENT!!
At the oval there will be a band, Childrens activities, including a blow-up castle and Santa. There will also be food and drinks available, motorcycle trade displays and stalls selling everything from T-Shirts to jewellery. There will also be run badges available from the MRA stock tent.
Entry to the oval is a toy or gold coin donation. St Vincent de Paul will be collecting the toys for distribution to needy kids. Please bring a toy for older children, games, books, sporting goods etc.
We expect free car parking to be available approx. 50m past the oval on the left.
